Dance Recital, take two

Some of you may remember Sophie's first dance recital. She left the dancing up to the others and spent the number looking shy and afraid on that big stage.

That was the Holiday show, and in the life of a 3 year old, 5 months can make a world of difference. We've been slowly preparing her for her big, dance class finale at the Lexington Opera House.

Yesterday was the dress rehearsal for the show on Saturday. As we sat in the audience watching the other groups perform, she sat closer and closer to me before finally crawling into my lap.

"Are you nervous?" I asked.
She nodded.

"Are you excited?" I asked.
She nodded.

"Are you going to dance?" I asked.
She nodded.

Please excuse the first 30 seconds of darkness before the dancing gets started.

She wasn't always a big fan of dance class, but she came through in the end. I'm such a proud mama.

OH MY GOOOOOODNESS! That may well be the cutest thing I've seen so far in 2010! Sophie is just adorable in her dance outfit, and she BOOGIED! I cannot *wait* to see her in a few weeks! (you too, by the way ;) )

Amazingly adorable girl! her friends are too.
You must be so very proud, AM! One thing I noticed with happiness is that she at some moments showed leadership, some moments follow-ship. She clearly can use her own great judgment even under pressure. Bravo, Sophie!
