Music

Sophie has always loved music. I like to think it's because I sang a lot of Leonard Cohen songs to her in utero, but I really don't think that's it. Music is in her blood.

When she was very small, we could turn on the Fine Arts Channel and she would stop crying almost instantly, mostly when Opera came on. She still loves Opera, but has branched out to Greg Brown, Peter, Paul and Mary, and The Beatles. She will break into song at any given moment and you never know if it will be "Yellow Submarine" or something she made up about Cinderella and a pony.

Last night, when they were replaying scenes from the first episode of Lost, she mimicked Charlie's "You all Everybody" with pretty good accuracy for a 3 year old.

On Saturday I caught her singing this little song she learned at preschool and I was lucky enough to catch it on video.

this is wonderful - she really sings well - I'm thinking she WILL be an opera singer someday!
