a blog taking advantage of nap time

Midnight last night, Sophie began to cry. It's wasn't a normal, sleeping cry, but a full on wail. I went to check on her and she was like a furnace. 100.6. Not awful, but not good. So we read. We drank ice water. We fell asleep. And today, we read books, watch TV, and ate noodle soup.

Around noon she and I crawled into bed once again to read some of her favorite books and she finally - finally - fell asleep.

Our little Sophie... now I'm not making an announcement or anything here, but she is going to be an amazing big sister. The cost of daycare makes another child slightly out of the question, at least at this particular juncture, but it's something Roy and I talk about often and look forward to. And we're seeing the signs of Sophie being the amazing big sister she will be.

This is her telling her baby to pedal! PEDAL!

There's been a lot of temperature taking at our house today and she loves sticking that thermometer under my armpit to make sure I'm well. She gave me bites of noodle soup and brushed my hair. She rocks her babies, tells them they're stinky and that they need a diaper change. When I dropped my phone the other day, she literally RAN to me to help me pick it up and saying, "it's okay, it's okay mommy!"

I've been meaning to post this for a week now and am just now getting to it. Mom, this one's for you.

Hope she's feeling better! (We've had the gunk too.) And even if you aren't making any official announcements... I still got a HUGE smile on my face when i read that! :)
